Our Story
Way before we ever met, our lives were crossing paths for years. We both grew up in neighboring towns, shared mutual friends, went to the same parties, and later discovered that our parents had known each other since high school. But despite all of those connections, we always remained just one degree apart.
We both committed to San Diego State while waiting to hear from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. When we each got off the waitlist, our parents posted on Facebook. Trent's parents asked if he knew Taylor. Taylor's parents asked if she knew Trent. The answer was the same on both sides: "Not really... but we know of each other."
That summer before leaving for college, a mutual friend introduced us at “two-dollar Tuesdays” at the local bowling alley. It was a brief conversation, and neither of us knew it would be the beginning of something much bigger. A few weeks later in Madison, we were randomly assigned to the same Greek life education class. Trent asked Taylor to lunch at the dining hall after, and we bonded about home, our mutual friends, and all of the connections that we shared.
From then on, we naturally gravitated towards each other. Throughout college we built separate lives but always found our way back to one another. We went to formals, music festivals, bars, and somehow always ended up in the same places.
Somewhere along the way, Taylor realized she was falling in love with Trent. She looked forward to every text, every chance encounter, and every invitation to spend time together. FINALLY, during senior year, Trent took the leap and asked Taylor on a proper date, and the rest is history.
The Engagement
Taylor thought she was on her way to Cielo Farms in Malibu for a day of wine tasting with her friends. Little did she know, Trent was nearby at her family's beach house—a place where they had shared so many memories—practicing how to get down on one knee with his friends.
On the drive to Malibu, the girls made a surprise detour. Taylor pulled up to the beach where Trent was waiting to propose.
